Desert King is famous for producing a strong breba crop and is well adapted to year round mild climates like the pacific Northwest. It also does well in containers in the Northeast where the breba crop can be preserved through the winter. Desert King originated from a seedling found in Madera California circa 1920. It is a San Pedro type fig and only (very) occasionally ripens a main crop fig. The breba crop ripens in July and the fruit are large with a green exterior and strawberry interior.
