LaRedek Brown Turkey is a relatively newly introduced English Brown Turkey variant grown first in Eastern Europe where it reportedly withstood a -18 F winter little die back and a -23F winter with moderate die back (but still fruited). Most years it produces a breba crop in zone 5b. The fruit is medium-sized and sweet with a good flavor.
In NJ this is a reliable producer for us producing large green to brown figs in September. It survives without die back under cover each year and is noticeably more cold hardy than some other figs that receive the same treatment.
