Ronde de Bordeaux is among the earliest and most cold hardy of the French figs. It takes about 70 days to ripen (so mid-August in the Mid-Atlantic area). The plant is a vigorous grower and can fruit following winter dieback. It is a dark skinned and very round (as the name suggests) fig. The fruit is on the small size with a dark red pulp. It is very tasty.
